With the Captains’ Cup this weekend and college women’s wrestling flooded with duals, this is the classification points and scoring for team competitions.

The greatest difference between the Captains’ Cup and college duals is the head- to-head criteria. For the Captains’ Cup, if a team wins more head to heads (4 and 2; 5 and 1) then that team wins the dual. For college duals, head to heads are the first tie-breaking criteria if the team classification points are tied at the conclusion of the final match.

Determining the Winner: Individual Matches
In a single match, the winner is the wrestler with the highest value of points, a win by fall, technical superiority, etc. If the match is tied the following criteria determine the winner.

1. Highest value scoring actions
2. Least number of cautions
3. Last point scored

Determining the Winner: Captains’ Cup
The winner of the dual will be the team with the highest number of individual wins (head-to-heads). If the number of individual matches is tied at the end of the six matches (3-3) the following criteria determine the winner.

1. Team with the greatest number of wins (head-to-heads)
2. Team with the highest classification points

3. The most victories by fall, default, forfeit, or disqualification
4. The most match victories by technical superiority
5. The most technical points obtained during the match
6. The fewest technical points given during the match
7. The outcome of the last bout competed

Determining the Winner: College Duals
The winner of the dual will be the team with the highest amount of classification points. If the score is tied at the end of all matches the following criteria determine the winner.

1. Team with the highest classification points
2. Team with the greatest number of wins (head-to-heads)

3. The most victories by fall, default, forfeit, or disqualification
4. The most match victories by technical superiority
5. The most technical points obtained during the match
6. The fewest technical points given during the match
7. The outcome of the last bout competed
