Team Hildebrandt
This is one of six team previews for the Captains’ Cup, a women’s freestyle dual competition presented by Titan Mercury WC, USA Wrestling and Flowrestling.
Team: Hildebrandt
Coach: Emma Randall
Pool B: Team Hildebrandt wrestles on Saturday vs Team Mensah-Stock at 6pm CT and Team Francis at 7pm CT.
Sarah Hildebrandt is coming into the Captains’ Cup with a string of domestic and international successes. She went 4-0 at the Henri Deglane in France last month, and in November defeated Alyssa Lampe by superiority in a long-anticipated battle of World medalists at the WRTC Underground 1. She won Senior Nationals in November and qualified the U.S. 50 kg weight class for the Olympic Games at the Pan Am Qualifiers in Ottawa.
Hildebrandt’s team has an additional pair of 2020 Senior Nationals champions. Jennifer Page won at 62 kg over Macey Kilty and has been on multiple card-style events with the Nittany Lion WC, earning wins over Desiree Zavala and Lauren Mason. Lauren Louive (NYAC) won at 57 kg with a fall over Xochitl Mota-Pettis. Louive also competed in France. Kayla Marano, a multiple-time college All-American will wrestle at 68 kg. She’s ranked No. 1 in the NCAA and won U23 Nationals in the fall. Alex Hedrick replaced Tiare Ikei from the original draft at 53 kg. Hedrick became a 2020 NCWWC champion at 123 pounds after defeating Team Mensah-Stock’s 53 kg Cheyenne Sisenstein in the finals. Senior National Team Member Precious Bell—a 2019 U.S. Open and Senior Nationals champion—rounds out the lineup at 76 kg.
